Happy holiday season!

We decided to just get away with no objective except to rest and recharge. A 17-day Caribbean cruise seemed just the thing to do. Because Santa wouldn’t know that our grandkids had come to Florida for Christmas, they were concerned about leaving home. So, we did the next best thing: we celebrated Christmas the day after Thanksgiving while the whole family was home. It was just perfect.

We flew to Miami on Saturday and just hung out watching football at a great sports bar and then walked around downtown a little bit. We stumbled on a great Cuban restaurant and sampled wonderful chicken and beef empanadas.

Sunday was a lazy morning just killing time before heading to the port. Check-in was effortless, luggage arrived quickly, and it was time for the sail away celebration and then dinner.

I’m going to continue posting every day but with no plans made, we’ll be largely sleeping, eating, and leaning back.
