Day 11 - Barbados- Dec 31

Bridgetown, Barbados was the New Year’s Eve port of call. We have been here several times before so nothing was planned.

Except finding a fabric store or three.

We walked from the port to the old downtown markets where all the locals shop (no t-shirt stores to be found). Mae found fabric in each store that will be turned into something unique for sure.

We started to walk back to the port when we met a really nice guy on the street (buyer beware) who asked where we were going and then said he’d take us there for $5US total. We were sold. It was a short but entertaining ride. We’re not sure he was exactly a licensed taxi but we made it safely to the port.

The ship-wide celebration was a lot of fun. Entertainment everywhere. Dinner in the main dining room was really nice. From there we went to the pool area and hung out listening to music, dancing and waiting for midnight.

The ship sailed at 11PM and then went offshore to stay close enough for us to see about 5 simultaneous fireworks show.
