Day 13 - St. John's, Antigua - Jan 2

Another day, another fabric store or two.

We arrived early to St. John’s, Antigua along with three other huge ships. It was a mass of people all crowding through the same shoreside gates.

The beaches here are beautiful but not something we pursue (we live near the beach in Florida…). The area near the wharfs was a typical port city of call. Small shops and loud noise. But we did find two fabric shops with really nice people in them. It might be that we need another suitcase just to bring the fabric home.

We got back on the ship before noon and just hung out and watched the fist half of the Georgia/Notre Dame game before dinner.

Dinner was in the specialty steak house tonight and the food was exceptional as always. We chose Chateaubriand for two. I got so excited when it was presented and carved tableside that I forgot to take a photo. Trust me it was spectacular.

We got back to the stateroom in time to watch the end of the game and then joined a couple we met the first day at the back of the ship. It was nice just standing in the open air, chatting, and watching Antigua softly fade into the darkness.

Tomorrow we’re in Sint Maarten where I’m sure our schedule will be exactly as it’s been almost every other day of the cruise. That’s why we do these vacations!
