Homeward bound!

Staying in the airport hotel was perfect. We went from the lobby of the hotel to the other side of security in less than 30 minutes!

Because we were so concerned about delays at check-in, we got there about 2 ½ hours before the flight. Time went fast because we were comfortably seated in the Virgin Atlantic lounge where they bring everything right to your table.

In the photos below, you’ll see that for a second time, we traveled for 6 weeks using boats, trains, planes, buses, and subways with each of us having just a roll-aboard bag and backpack!

The flight home on Delta was effortless. They are still struggling to get back on track after COVID but this flight was like the “old Delta” in every way. The food was quite good (I normally don’t take photos of plane food) and the dessert is my standard for over 40 years: ice cream with Woodford Reserve Bourbon Cream (it used to be Bailey’s but Delta doesn’t carry it anymore).
