Day 6- Tokyo to Kobe - Apr 20

Today we headed out to Kobe on the Bullet Train. What a blast that was.

We pre-planned our trip yesterday so we knew exactly where to go, and with the help of You Tube, what to do with the tickets when we approached the gate. It’s an extremely efficient process from start to finish.

The train pulled in right on time, and about 3 minutes later it departed. The countryside was really interesting but at the speed we were moving, we could not always see things up close. We topped out at about 200 mph and I’ve included a screen shot taken somewhere along the 2 ½ hour journey.

I’ve included one gratuitous food picture of snacks purchased onboard. I wanted to buy them because I had to use a web app where I identified our train, car and seat. About 10 minutes later a lady came scooting up with our items, I tapped the credit card, and she was off. The ice cream and green tea are Mae’s and the gold bag and beer are mine. The gold bag is some kind of cracker that tastes like shrimp. I just couldn’t pass it up!

We got off the train in Kobe, walked about 100 feet to find a taxi waiting and 15 minutes later we were at the port. Boarding was smooth and the opened up the rooms about 30 minutes after we got on.

We’re docked here over night so that we can go to Kyoto tomorrow.
